New Zealand!

We have made it! 1 year, 1 month and 4 days after this plan began in our heads we are here. New Zealand is a beautiful country, the smells and the sounds, even the wind is relaxing. It has a tropical feeling, even in the biggest city. Jiri and I are staying at a backpackers now waiting to buy a van that will be our home for the next year or 2. We have found one but now we have to bargin the price with the owners and sign all the paper work, but that all happens in 2 days. We did have it checked to see if it was in fact a good car and nothing major was wrong with. So that turned out well. I am really excited! So I hope everything goes well, cross your fingers for us!

We love you all and I will put up more photos soon!

Jiri and I have been in Seoul for almost a week now, the mixed feelings about leaving The Czech Rep are still with us, but we also totally enjoying Korean culture. The food is Jiri’s favorite and we eat Korean every night (but we did have a waffle tonight). All the smells and sounds are busy and moving. This city reminds me of Seattle a bit with the richness of taste. Tomorrow we are going to the North Korean, South Korean border to learn as much as we can about the North. We tried to to get in to North Korea, but it is just impossible for me at this time. Maybe next time. I really cant imagine what is beyond the barb-wire fences and land mines. I would like to see in the future and possibly help in any way I can. I am putting up some photos of My Love and me here in Seoul, I hope you enjoy!

I love you all!

P.S. We leave for New Zealand on Sat. morning!

We’re almost off…

Jiri and I have just left his village home in the east of the Czech Republic and are in Prague waiting to fly out tonight to South Korea. We will be there for 9 days before flying on to New Zealand. Its strange to be leaving this country, even though I am not from here, I feel as though it’s becoming a home. I can only wonder when we will be back. Its hard to go when you have no set date in your mind when you will be returning. His family has always been so good to us and so understanding, even if we lead such different and crazy lives from theirs. Take care all and I hope all of you stay healthy.
